I am so excited to share! I’ve been sitting on this, waiting, waiting and more waiting. This family is so dear to my heart, and their struggles are similar to many other couples. I’ve known mom for almost 5 years, and being a bit reserved, I’m am so blessed to have been let into an inner circle of friendship. She watched as I conceived and birthed my second and then my third child. This couple would come and take my children for dates when my husband was out of country, giving me ‘me’ time. Amid their things, praying peace and unity over our family.
Yup – I’m crying already. I was almost date night ready, now I need to reapply my makeup.
Last winter, mom asked if I would write a recommendation for them. I was speechless, tears of joy came instantly. I sent it in, and would try not to sound giddy when asking the progress. But I was, I was bursting that any day, a birth family would choose them. I wanted her to have what I had. I saw the way she looked longingly. I saw how her heart ached to call a baby hers.
In January, she sent out a prayer request. An urgent one. It was a Thursday morning. She said that they were meeting a birth mom that night! And that’s all it said. The next Sunday, I heard glorious news! The birth mom cancelled the last 4 interviews and choose them! They were getting a baby boy in 4 days! I was so happy for them, I cried to joyously for them, my kids thought I was crazy.
Baby boy was 6 weeks old, and that was all I knew. They came by during the week to pick up a few supplies, since you know – I have 3 littles of my own – I have practically anything a new mom would need! At that time, mom told me the story of the baby boy and the birth mother. And as much as I would love to tell it to you, I won’t. That’s not my story to tell, this is.
Finally, after almost 4 weeks of having Baby N in their home, travel and sickness in both houses, this new wonderfully perfect family made it into the studio. It was such a lovely afternoon! Baby N makes the greatest faces
I can’t wait to watch him grow in this family. I can’t wait until he gets to be a big brother. I love watching this friend of mine fill out her new role of mother.
